Your best-selling country !?

It is reasonable to assume that the United States is generally the #1 buyer in all marketplaces, not just stock and gfx and audio, because of its massive GDP.

Combine that with the fact that marketing/advertising, web design, and software are all giant industries in the States, for both small business and large.

They probably output more media content that any other country, and they have bigger budgets for stock and the like. I can't see them moving off the top spot any time soon.

Hi, this is a nice track but here are some of my opinions:

  1. At 0:02 something is distorting (it may be the piano that is clipping).
  2. The mixing needs a little bit more work.
  3. It would be better (for the AJ's sake ), as someone else said so before, replace the banjo melody line and with a solo violin or cello.

Good luck

I guess you can try to resubmit if you have drastic changes into your track ( arrangement, melody, mix, different type of instruments etc..).

That banjolele does not sound good with the rest of the track, at least to my ears. Also mix can be better.

I hope this is helpful to you,

Social Media Sharing Code Required

Hi

I hope someone can help me with this as I don't really know what to look for!

I have a site and it has the usual twitter, facebook etc link icons, however rather than them linking directly to my own twitter, facebook pages etc I would like then to allow users to click on the icon(s) and post and share them on their own twitter etc accounts. I have seen this functionality on many sites but don't know what coding/script I require to add this functionality to my own html site.

I would rather not have pop up panels with icons etc, but rather simply add a snippet to the a href for the link icons I already have (if at all possible).

Any suggestions most welcome as I'm still feeling my way with 'social'.

How can I add a box on the homepage where the consumer enters their zip code and it opens up to their local page.
On my homepage now, there is a search box but it's a 2 step process. They enter their County now, goes to search results then to the page. I would rather eliminate the search box. Best to enter their zip code, boom, right to the page they need. 101Pros.com
Enter LEE in the county, that's the only County page so far.

Question: Can you simply remove an instrument on a track that has been rejected and re-submit? The reviewer stated: As the submission is too far off the standards we require, you'll be unable to re-submit on this occasion.
The way that's worded leads me to believe that I can't do that kind of thing.

Envato doesn't take taxes from US authors at all unless the author didn't fill out tax info or didn't do it properly.

And in this case, Envato can't "consider" anything. This is not an Envato decision, it is between Vietnam and the United States.

Unable to resubmit my wordpress soft-rejected items

Hi scriptsbundle,

Resubmissions are included in the quota. Unfortunately you will need to wait until your other items in the review queue have been processed before submitting your item again.

As this change was applied to the current queue we didn't want to forcibly remove any items from the current queue if an Author was already above their quota. As resubmissions are prioritised, once under the quota there should be a quick turn around for your resubmitted items

Full details here of the change: http://ift.tt/2bxtfH8

Unable to resubmit my wordpress soft-rejected items

Thanks @charlie4282. You're spot on.

The focus for us (and the most important thing) is lowering the overall time-to-market of your items.

Consider two hypothetical scenarios:

You're able to immediately resubmit your item to the queue, but the total time-to-market is 20 days.

You have to wait 10 days to resubmit the item, but the total time-to-market is 15 days, because the item only spends five days in the queue.

It's a different workflow, but ultimately it will create a faster turnaround for all authors.

@themevendors the new restrictions do not include item updates, so you're totally free to submit item updates at any point in time

Hi @NotableNoise, here is my opinion.

For the first track maybe you should try to put some melody instead that vocal, it sounds like it is chopped from some song. Second, songs which have only piano there should be some dynamics, details to sound realistic. Third is ok, maybe some better libraries. About mixing and mastering I can't tell you now, it's 2am in my country, I am on headphones right now.

What we expect when we buy big sound packs? Customer expectation discussion. Please join!

Hello community!
I am in search of a path for big sound pack creation. As I am not involved in other projects except sound design, there is a feeling that I could offer better sound packs if I could know what you - customers expect to find when searching for big collection of new sound effects.
There are many ways how sounds could be grouped within a sound pack and I am talking about maximal 50 sound version as it is most bargain offer available on our market.
So the pack could consist of 50 sounds with identical concept. (ex. 50 Reward Sounds)
Or could contain 5 groups with 10 sounds (ex. 10 Jump , 10 Fall, 10 Hit, 10 Shots 10 GUI)
Etc...
Please feel free to share your preferences and experiences here for authors consideration in order to bring best value with less expenses.
Thank you for attention!

How to know if your next piece of stock music is any good

Awesome tips.
A really useful test for a 'finished' piece of stock music which I never used to do (which was a big mistake!) is to actually listen to the track on fresh ears while watching the kind of vision you hope it'll be purchased for.
So if you're writing a track for something dark and spooky, jump on VideoHive and preview a bunch of stock footage in that style, switching from one to the next while your music plays in the background.

Usually the visual aid makes things really obvious to you, you'll suddenly notice an instrument that is really inappropriate for the style, that the mix is too bright or dull, or more often than not - that your piece is either way too fast or slow! It helps you see the problems in your track that would turn potential buyers away.

Also - don't be in a hurry to upload the track! Whenever I think a track is finished, I wait until the next day to do a final listen. 4 out of 5 times, I notice something blaringly obvious that only takes 5 minutes to fix. Well worth it.

Made with Envato Contest (September 2016)

Hello all. Since coming from Sony Vegas, I'm a total noob with After Effects. These templates, however, have given me the desire to attempt more ambitious projects; even as someone who does this purely as a hobby. The artists who create these works, both templates and music, are truly appreciated and are credited for the overall quality of what I produce.
Here's a video I published to help promote a tip app my agency uses-

Work on making the yellow frame a more integral part of the animation by using it as a transition element between scenes. Otherwise, right now it doesn't stand out from the crowd. On a daily basis, we receive literally 5-10 slideshow projects that function just like this one.

Went on Coldplay concert!

I'm not sure I'm doing a correct thing to open a new topic about this, but I have to share this because this day was so amazing as a musician. I wend to Coldplay concert 08/22/16 and still in emotions! It was so majestic! So, if anyone likes Coldplay as much as I do, please enjoy https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qAVhmnt2loE

Need Help Please !!! Hard Reject !!!

I don't usually do logos or mnemonics as they are sometimes called so, I may be way off here. In the world of commercial adverts a logo or mnemonic is normally 3 to 5 seconds long. What you've done here is much longer than that and although it doesn't repeat as a loop the sounds are very similar and it sort of comes across that way.

It strikes me as a cinematic cue written for a specific scene. It's really nice and sounds great but it's very scene specific.

An idea may be to go to videohive, search for logos, download a preview, mute the music track the videohiver is using (if there is one) and score something original to it....just an idea

That being said, it's really impossible to know why the reviewers reject things because there's no feedback from them. I recently expanded and re-mixed a demo I did for Coke that was one of the finalist to be in used for an advert that aired during the London Olympics.....got a hard reject and it really makes no sense to me.

All I can say is keep swingin' for the fence..... I went and gave a listen to what you're doing. Nice stuff Archimusic!

How to know if your next piece of stock music is any good

For more articles like this go to community.envato.com...

AudioJungle's GeorgioRoss provides this interesting reflection on what's helped him seperate himself from his music enough to figure out if it's the best thing for the market.

There are many ways to get an outside perspective on your music, but some points of view could be more valuable than others.

We musicians spend days locked away on our own piecing strange sounds together. By the time they've formed any semblance of something 'finished', we're ready to stab ourselves in the ears for fear of hearing the same loop for the billionth time. Even so, you know there's potential there – something that has kept you glued to your computer that whole time.

But does it sound any good, or have you just become attached to your new creation?

After investing much time and effort in it, it's no wonder we eventually need to reach out to the outside or online world and get someone else's opinion.

When I began making tunes, pretty much all of my friends hated music with a passion. I needed perspective on the tracks I'd crafted, and ideas for ways to move forward. Seeking feedback, I slowly began to cultivate a new circle of friends: other solo producers who wanted to improve. We'd swap synthesis tips, mixing techniques and clips of tracks (sometimes finished… but usually not), even pictures of some funny kittens, encouraging each other to work harder.

Criticism would always be delivered with refreshing honesty. If your latest track was terrible, you'd know about it – but you'd also know why, and how to make the next idea better as a result. Nowadays, the ubiquity and anonymity of the internet simplifies the process of getting your music out there for others to cast judgement upon. But how valuable is an anonymous source of advice to you?

Whether your feedback is coming from strangers on a forum or personal friends, you need to make sure it's helping you improve. Don't cling to a musical creation just because you spent ages on it; accept that you'll make some terrible music in the early stages of your development. Just use any constructive criticism and momentum to improve that track or put together a new idea as quickly as possible.

Your own worst critic

As my production skills have slowly improved over the years, I've sought less and less feedback from others. If you make music, you're likely listening to lots of music and subconsciously critiquing it.

Sonic tastes and instincts mature over time, and you develop a feel for the difference between a good and bad song. I'm not saying that external opinion becomes redundant, but you should strive to become your own harshest critic before anyone else even hears your tracks. Compare your music with the music you like. The approval of others shouldn't outweigh the satisfaction and pride you get when a track is 'finished'.

In layman's terms

Nowadays, I find non-technical feedback is by far the most productive.

  • Forget if the vocal is mixed well – is it actually any good?

  • Does my piece work musically?

  • Will this track work for a commercial?

To gauge these reactions, I'll play unfinished projects to my friends. They're obsessed with - but don''t produce their own - music. In the world of listener, DAWs have hinges, and plugins go in sockets. Music software genuinely scares them.

Ignorance of the music world adds so much value to their opinions in my eyes; they're not trying to work out how much parallel compression I've applied over the drum bus, or what synth I've used to create the bass. Instead, an energetic track will usually excite them, whereas a lacklustre effort will be greeted with a "meh". Most listeners that need stock music aren't that technical but will quickly let you know if an idea works in their minds, as long as you push for their honest opinion.

The curse of the loop

I began to realise that the majority of the unfinished track bounces I sent out for feedback would sit in my dedicated 'Loops' folder, unfinished. Listening back, many of these track sections contained some of my best ideas. Why hadn't I completed them? It became clear that the act of exporting an unfinished project would subconsciously relegate it to the 'unfinished' pile in my mind, and the momentum to get it done would just evaporate.

Since that epiphany, I've banned myself from rendering out unfinished tracks, and I'll only bounce an entire track down once it's done and dusted.

Of course, a 'finished' track will often need revisiting. So to counteract the 'curse of the loop', I'll try to make the final adjustments in as short a timeframe as possible – before the motivation to complete the track disappears, and it becomes yet another 'loop'.

I discussed this technique a few months ago: when evaluating a nearly finished track, I'll make notes on pen and paper as it plays; scribbling down reminders to add or change certain sections, tweak the mix here and there, turn up the bass, and so on.

Once the project's open, I can work my way through the list, correcting each issue and ticking them off in turn. This keeps the momentum rolling, and helps things stay on track until the project is finally done. Although, to quote da Vinci: "Art is never finished, only abandoned".

How to proceed with little documentation update?

What I meant is, just create a separate .txt file and include the info in there.

What I do is, I put the changelog in the root of the download package so the user can quickly access the info. I write up the date of the update, the version number and a list of the affected files. See the attached screenshot of my folders and the actual changelog.txt
