Okay lets assume it your way. Then why don't they give the money back to authors who filled the form now. Its obvious that they are not going to file tax on the 1st January itself. They can change it anytime. Its sure that they are not going to pay this money anywhere. It will go in the account of Envato.
And if they are deducting money according to US law. Then why they didn't start doing it according to US time. They started deducting money when there was 31st December in most of the countries.
One more thing on Envato profile you can't write these things as country name because they have the country names and you just need to select one. So no option of planet earth or something like that. So its clear to them which author belong to which country.
