You've lost me slightly... if you're working on it, how did the other person get a hold of it? And what do you mean by 'I purchased the rights'? Is this an existing PSD or HTML item that you're converting into a theme? Have you paid the author to be able to make the WP theme and now he or somebody else has also made a WP theme from it?
On April 1st my item was approved!! I was very excited. It is exact 1 month here. However I got only 6 sales with many job offers and custom project requests. I got many emails and comments in favor of my application.

Third month of selling here and my numbers are 13, 26 and 25 for each month. Hopefully they'll go up as my portfolio gets bigger but it's a good starting point anyway I guess. Who knows what would have happened if I'd started before the infamous 'search algorithm change'...

King Composer is more expensive than Visual Composer to include in your theme
the Beaver link you are looking at is a free lite version so again you need to check the licensing because I owuld be very surprised if you could use that in a commercial theme without buying the proper version (again more expensive than VC). Plus the Lite version is quite restricted when looking at it in detail.

You may not be rejected for an unmodified TGMPA - just a warning that you might as I had rejections related to it, basicly anything that fails themecheck. It is pretty annoying to get rejected for a script you have to use. I'd rather roll my own then have to keep modifying an existing script every update.
The soft is about 3 days so it's not so bad. It's when you get several it starts to mount up. That may not happen to you. But it's pretty tough for authors at the moment.

I have been using SiteOrigin Page builder for the last 3 years, its perfect for you.
What would be really awesome are more themes for independent music-writers/composers/sound designers/etc . Most of themes that revolve around that now are all leaned heavy toward record labels or bands/traditional music artists, but not much for freelance/contractor composers like our fine audiojungle contributors. Would be nice to have something that could implement soundcloud player, most everyone in anything audio related is using one now anyway. And a nice portfolio setup that will allow to show past projects like games, animations, movies/videos or even just an album. My personal website (bought the template from themeforst!) is like frankensteins monster. I couldn't get exactly what I wanted out any of the templates I could find so I settled with the best of what was available and honestly not happy with it. Not the fault of the seller, just wasn't meant to function for my needs.

There are so many such cases possible which all are against authors. So I don't think need to find solutions for all.
What I am thinking is this feature is completely unwanted. When buyer ask for refund then in most cases I think there is no need to solve it. If buyer understands and want to solve then he never ask for refund instead he can contact author for support not for refund.
Consider this scenario. A buyer asks for a refund for an invalid reason. Author declines his request.
Now the Buyer left a 1 star review saying that the theme does not work (infact its working). So that review is usually not against the review rules. But the Buyer took the advantage of it.. just because the Author declined his request.
In this case, Whether we can remove that rating?
A check something like: Buyer Initiated Refund => Buyer Left 1 star => Then we should consider removing it even the refund is declined.

Yesterday we just got the message that our new item 'WeePie Cookie Allow Simple' is hard rejected, with the reason: "we found that it's too far off the standards we require, so you'll be unable to submit it again". We think this is not correct at all, because:

Themes developed will not be sold on themeforest but may be sold through own distribution channel.
I have a psd and images of a design that I would like to have a theme made for. This theme would be distributed to others so it needs to be customizable. So I am not looking for someone to just create a wordpress website based on a theme for me but to be able to help me create a theme that could create the mock layout but also allow for customization based on individual users preferences using a page builder or custom css.

Soft reject comments are for both two similars:
1. There are a few inconsistent spacing/padding as well as alignment issues throughout the design. I'd like you to go over it with a fine toothed comb and weed out these basic design issues.
2. Remove custom scroll.
3. Some of your files contain validation errors that will need to be fixed. Please be sure that all files validate before resubmitting.
4. Make sure the CSS file is well documented with proper table of content
5. Templates should not include any !important declarations in the CSS.
6. Inline CSS is not permitted. Please remove all inline CSS.
7. Please use "" tags for all navigation in the template.
I fixed all before resubmit but I found some my mistakes:
1) I not found problem of inconsistent spacing/padding or alignment so I asked more infos to reviewer.
1) I missing some page(5-6) for validation errors fixing.
After this I get Hard Rejcts in the same time all two emails received in 30sec.
Can you explain me why Hard reject and what mean with of inconsistent spacing/padding or alignment (only for contruction template) ?

So there's two questions here.
In the above scenario, would the customer be eligible for a refund?
If your item is working as described on your item page, then there is no obligatory refund required. You could, however decide to give them a discretionary refund if you wanted to.
If the customer rated negatively, would the rating be removed?
If the rating was provided in line with one of the reasons listed in the rating removal policy, such as if the buyer was attempting to pressure you into a refund, then yes, the rating would be removed. If it didn't fall into a category specified in the rating removal policy, you would still be able to publicly reply to the customer's rating reason (transparently explaining the situation to other potential buyers), but we would not remove the rating.
Hope that answers your question.
When an item is refunded the purchase code corresponding to that item will automatically be deemed invalid.

We chose the bottom of the item description because we didn't want the recommended items to compete with the actual item being viewed. That, and the fact that we were limited in terms of how much time we could spend on this feature because it was a Hack-fort(night) project.

It turns out there has been no increase in rating removal requests since support started expiring on March 2nd. That either means that the fear of customers rating negatively because they are asked to renew support is unfounded or it's because authors don't expect the review to be remove so they are simply not raising a ticket to have the rating removed. Either way, until I can prove there is an actual problem it's hard for me to explain to others that this is what we should do next.
On the upside, we have made some important changes to the rating removal policy. For the time being the policy has only been rolled out internally so that we can ensure the wording makes sense to Help Officers and correctly communicates our intention.
At a high-level the new rating removal policy will address two key areas:
As soon as we are comfortable that we have the right wording in the policy, we'll update the community.

You can use your website to redirect customers to envato studio but why you are willing to redirect your customers from your website to Envato Studio Account. If you can get customers on your site itself thn why to pay commission to envato? You can show them that you have so and so reviews etc but redirecting customers to another platform is not a good idea.
You should rather get customers from envato studio to your site. May be im wrong but this is just a thought

Just made a rough calculations for last april and this years. Last April we had 10% more income from US customers. Didn't envato sell us a story that moving to us and authors paying additional taxes is a must so they can with moving there bring us more us traffic?
I like the option to be able to issue refunds. Sometimes a product simply won't work for a particular project and instead of entering endless conversations with the customer and trying to explain things and look for alternative solutions, it will be best for both sides if we could just give them a refund.
@DistinctiveThemes The traffic isn't good as 2 years ago. I use have between 3000-4000 unique visitor on item's first day. Now maybe 250-500 which is dractically dropped. From Envato's side it's flawless business isn't it?

I agree, probably due to the compromises they did to unify both games into the Homeworld 2 engine, which altered some cool things about the gameplay. But I still think it's a fantastic game and enjoy playing it from time to time,

Indeed, and I may also add that original H1's soundtrack is better than H1's remastered one. Maybe it's just a psychological effect, but remastered edition "lost" something that was present all these years ago, back in 1999 :).

I totally agree with everyone, yeah - my mix has many problems (especially with sub bass and mid, high frequencies), but...
By one side, I have listened to hundreds of epic tracks that sounds like midi file, and mix is lke *from box... and they are accepted... and it is a litlle offending me, my track is not worst (in many case it sounds better than other accepted tracks).
But by other side, REJECT - it is MOTIVATION for me to upgrade myself, to increase my level of sound - mixing, mastering, it learns me to be more patience and don't give up with AJ, make me to work with my music - skills.

I don't know about current Search Algorithm on codecanyon but here on audiojungle since 3 days after approval you're track become almost invisible.
Before December all was just perfect and sales was so good.
So the question is to wait for Search algorithm improvement or become non-exclusive and spread all stuff through other places?

Excellent idea. But I didn't catch if authors can initiate refund. Recently I spent almost 3 hours explaining how to update WordPress plugin. The questions were so stupid and obvious, it made me really angry after 10 minutes. My time and nerves are much more expensive comparing to Item price. So in this case I prefer to refund and forget about such "customer".

In next week, I will make a request refunds for all themes/templates that I bought before with awesome reason: "this template is not what I am looking for". Tadaa.. I need a plugin that can create a voting page with contestants of a contest. Contestants will have their photos and description and a voting button. A voter can vote only once. Should get a confirmation after registering vote. The voting page should be open for a specified number of days.
The dashboard should display the results. Multiple voting pages can be created. The voting page should be customizable with photos, background color, layout etc.
Can anyone suggest a plugin or customize a plugin to fulfill my requirement?

Third-Party Themes and Extensions Are at Risk
We recently learned that an SQL injection vulnerability has been found in several third-party themes and extensions. Extensions with the vulnerability include:
EM (Extreme Magento) Ajaxcart
EM (Extreme Magento) Quickshop
MD Quickview
SmartWave QuickView
These extensions are used in several different themes, including Porto, Trego, and Kallyas from SmartWave. Other SmartWave themes may also be at risk. Vulnerable EM modules are used in some EM themes. The core Magento application is not impacted in any way by this vulnerability.
We've received reports that the SQL injection vulnerability is potentially being exploited. If you currently use these extensions or themes, you should immediately contact the company from which you purchased the extensions or themes to request updated code. We understand that Themeforest, part of Envato Market, has already removed the vulnerability from the Porto theme, but the status of other themes and extensions is unknown.
It is also important for you to evaluate all your Magento administrator accounts to make sure there are no unknown users and to reset all your administrator passwords. Please review the Magento Security Best Practices for more information on how to secure your site and use magereport.com to scan your site for missing patches or known issues.

If an author has uploaded 25 tracks during the past 6/7 years and has had 2/300 sales in that period I don't see how a change in the current search engine would benefit that author. And I don't think an author in that position can blame a change in the search algorithm in late 2015 for slow sales. I still think a larger portfolio with quality music will benefit more authors than a change in the search.
